Methods of Distraction is a project by the author. It was officially formed in 2001 as part of an extensive Frankensteinian electronic sequencing experiment using a program called FruityLoops. Throughout the past three to four years, MOD has heavily employed the use of the ImageLine plugin called Sytrus, a high-end FM, RM and subtractive synthesizer.
While MOD’s earlier music has been likened to the trance and techno genres, Sega’s Sonic the Hedgehog games, and Nintendo’s Super Mario Bros., more recent projects have evolved into a (slightly) more mature, well-rounded sound, incorporating the use of many stringed instruments, piano, and occasionally an accordion.
Ironically, MOD grew up without having played more than a handful of videogames (most of them on a Gameboy) until the age of 16 when MOD got a PS2 for Christmas and began composing electronic music.
